Most people live busy lives amidst many demands, noise and deadlines. Also with enormous information available at our finger tips, the mind is always consumed.
What we need is some quiet time that gives us peace of mind and time to reflect and rejuvenate. Also this practice enhances clarity about purpose, goals and vision. Carving out this quiet time is difficult. However, some time invested there enhances the quality of the rest of your day.
For me early morning works best for spending this quiet time. If I don't spend quiet time in the morning it does not happen later in the day. Also, I believe early morning is a good time because it is quiet around you - in your house, in the streets - and is conducive to reflection and peace. For others late in the day before retiring works better. Choose your time and make it a ritual - call it meditation time, prayer or even 'rest' time!
How about you? When is the last time you had uninterrupted quiet time where you could just contemplate?
